Your First Visit

Please arrive about 10 minutes early so that you have enough time to complete a New Patient form. 

Initial Examination

Your dentist will start by reviewing your medical and dental history and completing a comprehensive dental exam. Your exam will include a thorough examination of your gums, teeth, bite and jaw, an oral cancer screening and any x-rays that may be needed.

Treatment Plan

Based on your history and examination, your dentist will create a long-term dental treatment plan for you. Your dentist will also leave time to answer any questions you have about your dental health and treatment options.

  • What precautions do you take to protect patients from COVID-19?

    We understand you want to feel safe and secure in the knowledge that we take every precaution we can to protect our patients from COVID-19, as well as other viruses, when you come in for your appointment. Here are the specific precautions we take:

    i. Enhanced patient protection measure: all our staff members have upgraded their protective gear. This includes appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for all appointments. Between patients, we meticulously clean and disinfect rooms and all surfaces, as well as sterilize instruments.

    ii. A virtual waiting room: we have set up a "virtual waiting room" for our patients to check-in via text message and wait, if necessary, somewhere safe outside the clinic, such as in a car.

    iii. Tech-enabled screening: we digitally pre-screen patients in advance for COVID-19 symptoms and risk factors.

    iv. Air filtration (HEPA): in the coming days we will be investing in high-efficiency air filtration systems to ensure air quality is sanitary and for aerosol producing procedures.

    We use e-files through our PMS tracker, which means patients can now complete forms electronically, saving the need for paperwork and any concern regarding germ transmission via paper forms.

  • How can I book an appointment?

    To book an appointment at Southwood Dental Studio, please contact our office during our regular business hours.

  • How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

    To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call us. Please let us know about any change of plans as soon as you can, so another patient may be able to use the space in our schedule.

  • Do you offer appointment reminders?

    In the days before your appointment, you will receive automated phone appointment reminders from us. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call us as soon as possible to let us know.

  • Do you provide services in any languages other than English?

    Yes, our offices are able to provide dental services in several languages including Korean, Hindi, Punjabi, Farzi, Urdu, and Filipino.

    If you have a language preference, please advise us when booking your appointment.

  • Does your clinic have on-site parking?

    Yes, we have free on-site parking available for all our patients. We are also easily accessible via public transit. 

Insurance & Financing

At Southwood Dental Studio, we'll help you navigate our options for payment and direct billing to insurance companies so you can focus on getting the dental care you need.

  • Direct Billing to Insurance

    For most insurance plans, we offer direct billing. This means we can submit your insurance claim electronically, resulting in faster reimbursement, without the need for paper forms and signatures.

    Our administrative team can assist you in understanding your insurance plan better and can also send estimates to your insurance company before starting any major treatments. 

    Please bring your insurance plan information to your appointment.

  • Payment Methods

    It is your responsibility to pay any co-pays or amounts not covered by your insurance. These payments must be made at the time of your appointment.

    We accept payment via cash, debit or most major credit cards.
